2026.02.09 message MIKI HOUSE Pop-Up Launches at 1st Floor of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, a Nationally Designated Important Cultural Property

February 4 (Wed) – 10 (Tue), 2026

MIKI HOUSE, operated by MIKI SHOKO Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Yao City, Osaka; President: Koichi Kimura), is hosting a grand-scale pop-up from Wednesday, February 4 to Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the Central Hall on the 1st floor of the Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi Main Building, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property. This marks the second consecutive year the pop-up is held at this iconic location, following its inaugural edition in 2025.

◆ Background

Founded on “love for children”, MIKI HOUSE has long pursued initiatives across a wide range of fields to bring smiles to children and their families. In its apparel business, MIKI HOUSE has consistently prioritized children in product development and service since its founding, earning international acclaim for its safe, reliable, durable and premium-quality products. Beyond apparel, the brand is also actively involved in publishing, education, childcare support, and sports programs, continuing to offer initiatives that make daily lives happier for children and families.
Meanwhile, the Mitsukoshi Isetan Group has long upheld a “customer first” philosophy, pioneering new ways to enhance and enrich customers’ lifestyles throughout its history.
The alignment of the two companies’ visions has sparked a range of initiatives since last year, from the first large-scale pop-up by a children’s apparel brand at this location, to the renewal of the MIKI HOUSE store— all designed to offer customers even more distinctive, high-value products, services, and experiences.

As the second installment, this pop-up presents a range of new experiences through which visitors can discover MIKI HOUSE’s beloved Made-in-Japan quality, connect with the richness of Japan’s traditions and culture, and share joyful moments with children and families.

<Exclusive Debut of New Arrivals and Special Limited-Edition Offerings>

The “Sea Island Cotton Knit Fleece Series” made from the rare “Jewel of Fibers” Sea Island Cotton, is carefully crafted on specialized loop wheel machines that gently handle the yarn, preserving its delicate structure. This artisanal technique fully unlocks the material’s natural softness, creating an exceptionally airy, lightweight, and cloud-like comfort for their wearers.

At the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Building pop-up, visitors will have the opportunity to preview the 2026 Autumn/Winter collection and participate in an exclusive pre-order event before the general release. For visitors who enjoy matching outfits with their children, MIKI HOUSE is offering a special adult lineup in exclusive colors, available only at this location. These one-of-a-kind pieces create a truly exceptional experience, offering exclusive products and services that make a visit to Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi even more memorable.

For adults, the collection is usually available only in red, but white and black have been added as special limited-edition colors to make coordinated family outfits even more fun.

In addition, the pop-up features exclusive items not available in any regular MIKI HOUSE store, including the Wajima-nuri festival dolls. Each piece is crafted by expert artisans through over 100 specialized processes, and features traditional techniques such as maki-e (gold lacquer) and kirikane (gold leaf inlay). These meticulously crafted creations celebrate the artistry of Made-in-Japan craftsmanship and are being presented to visitors from around the world.

<A First for MIKI HOUSE: Traditional Craft Workshop for children>

On Saturday, February 7, and Sunday, February 8, family-friendly workshops will be held to invite parents and children to experience the world of Wajima-nuri, one of Japan’s renowned traditional crafts, through the maki-e technique. Traditionally, maki-e involves sprinkling gold, silver, or powdered shell onto designs painted with lacquer—a uniquely Japanese method. In this workshop, in place of lacquer, special foil is applied onto stickers, enabling even young children to experience the artistry of this traditional technique safely and easily.

With custom-made stickers, children of all ages can safely engage with the artistry of craftsmen firsthand.

② Product Lineup That Invites Visitors to Enjoy MIKI HOUSE’s Distinctive Worlds

For a limited time, dedicated booths will be set up for the popular baby shoes collection, as well as for MIKI HOUSE’s brands “MIKI HOUSE CHIECO SAKU” and “MIKI HOUSE DOUBLE_B”.

The baby shoe corner will feature a newly developed, rocket-shaped foot measuring device for the first time. This allows children to have their feet measured at a relaxed and enjoyable pace, helping them find the perfect-fitting pair.

The CHIECO SAKU and DOUBLE_B booths each present a world of their own through dedicated fixtures, creating distinctive worlds that differ from MIKI HOUSE. These unique settings invite children to enjoy a playful mix of “cute,” “cool,” and exciting experiences.

③ Enriching Experiences for Children and Families

In addition to workshops, the pop-up will feature a wide range of hands-on experiences and special events, designed to help children and their families enjoy meaningful time together and create memories that will last long after their visit.

On Saturday, February 7, the MIKI HOUSE Kids Fashion Show will be held, with children stepping into the spotlight as they walk the red carpet. The fashion show was very well received at its previous edition, and this time, it will be held on a larger scale. For the first time, invitations will be extended not only to customers of the host store, but also to families from MIKI HOUSE shops across the Mitsukoshi Isetan Group in the Kanto region— bringing this special and memorable experience to even more families.

Furthermore, families visiting with children are invited to enjoy the original miniature train ride, “Pucchi Train.” With its carefully crafted decorations, it evokes the feeling of traveling the world and brings smiles to children and their families.

◆ Continued Focus on Delivering Greater Added Value through Products, Services, and Environments

To better serve customers seeking high-value products and services, the MIKI HOUSE Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi store on the 7th floor of the Main Building underwent a store renewal in September 2025. Trusted by customers over many years, the store welcomes families at important life moments—such as preparing for a new baby or visiting together across three generations—who seek safe, high-quality products they can trust as “the very best for their children.” In response to these needs, the store has added the MIKI HOUSE GOLDLABEL collection to its permanent lineup. The store environment has also been completely refreshed, with the addition of semi-private consultation spaces that allow customers to shop comfortably at their own pace. Set within MIKI HOUSE’s joyful world, the renewed space offers a calm yet refined atmosphere where families can relax and enjoy their time shopping.

Going forward, MIKI HOUSE remains committed on creating even greater added value through its craftsmanship, services, and environments, with the aim of bringing joy to children and families around the world.
