Since its inception, MIKI HOUSE has focused on creating high-quality products with children in mind—durable goods that can be loved and used across generations by families everywhere.
In addition, the company promotes waste reduction through initiatives like enhancing repair services to prolong the life of cherished garments and adopting technologies that recycle fabric scraps previously destined for disposal, contributing to a circular economy. MIKI HOUSE also continues to advance various sustainability efforts, including environmentally conscious manufacturing and the use of eco-friendly fixtures and materials.

To further promote the company’s sustainability initiatives, MIKI HOUSE is currently holding the “MIKI HOUSE Go Green Campaign” at key overseas locations. As part of the campaign, children are invited to experience recycling firsthand by using “sample fabrics” generated during the production process. Through this fun and engaging activity, we hope to provide children and their families with a joyful and meaningful time—while also inspiring them to think about building a more sustainable future.
Overview
<sample fabrics>
To deliver the safe and reliable “MIKI HOUSE Quality” to children and their families, MIKI HOUSE carefully selects materials and produces its own original fabrics. During this process, some “sample fabrics” are created as prototypes, depending on the material and pattern.
In this campaign, children use those sample fabrics to create items such as thank-you cards and tissue holders. Through their own creativity and ideas, the sample fabrics are transformed into new, meaningful items. Not only does this provide children with a fun and fulfilling experience, but it also nurtures an appreciation for “cherishing things.”

<towels made of Looplus yarn>
We are actively promoting initiatives that utilize the L∞PLUS (Looplus) technology—a recycling method that repurposes “fabric offcuts” generated during the sewing process, which have traditionally been discarded.
This initiative aligns with our core values, as MIKI HOUSE specializes in high-quality baby and children’s products that are proudly Made in Japan. Thanks to Japan’s domestic production system, we are able to establish a sustainable cycle where waste resources can be effectively reused within the country.
Using Looplus technology, high-quality cotton offcuts from sewing factories are broken down into fiber form and spun into new yarn—known as Looplus yarn. This yarn is then used to produce towels, which we offer as gifts to customers on various occasions.
Through efforts like this, we aim to reduce waste and conserve resources during the manufacturing process, while also encouraging and inspiring our customers to embrace a more sustainable mindset.
※ “L∞PLUS (Looplus)” is a resource-recycling technology system developed by Japan’s major textile manufacturer KURABO INDUSTRIES LTD., with the concept of “transforming ‘what a waste’ into ‘something better’.”
<Sustainable Rubber Incorporated into the Soles of baby shoes>
One notable example of this initiative is the use of sustainable rubber in our popular Made-in-Japan baby shoes.We were among the first in the industry to adopt this eco-friendly material, which is made from natural rubber produced with respect for both the natural environment and working conditions. The rubber is traceable and managed through a controlled distribution system, with each batch assigned a unique serial number.
<Eco-Conscious Shopping Bag Made with Paper from Responsibly Managed Certified>
In addition to our products, we are actively working to reduce environmental impact through the materials used in our stores.
This includes the use of sustainable paper for shopping bags and product labels, the transition to polybags made from biomass-derived plastics, and the introduction of hangers made from wood sourced from responsibly replanted forests at select stores.
Through these efforts, we aim to make our store operations more eco-conscious at every touchpoint with our customers.
