A bond born from craftsmanship
We first visited Wajima about four months after the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
What we saw there was the tragic state of this long-loved craftsman town.
In a time when it was a hard to imagine recovery, one young lacquerware shop owner rose to his feet.
His words moved us deeply.
"I want to preserve this traditional craft, an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Japan,
so it can continue to be loved by my children's generation. I want to protect the many craftsmen involved."
It was the same philosophy we hold dear at MIKI HOUSE.
Since our founding, we have always put children first,
and have continued to create products with the desire to deliver authenticity and give children the very best.
All of our products are made by the hands of craftsmen,
with special attention to materials and sewing.
We hope that MIKI HOUSE brings smiles to all those who hold our products in their hands,
to all the children who wear them, and to every person who has encountered our brand.
The passion of MIKI HOUSE and the passion of Wajima-nuri lacquerware.
Our combined craftsmanship gave birth to MIKI HOUSE x Wajima-Nuri Lacquerware,
with the hope of ensuring a healthy future for children.
Okuizome, a Japanese traditional ceremony,
celebrates the birth of the baby and wishes for their growth.
And their first baby food, which supports the baby's healthy growth.
The Okuizome Meal Set and Feeding Set born from the MIKI HOUSE x Wajima-Nuri Lacquerware collaboration
embody our combined wish to fill the future of children and their families with smiles.
Okuizome, the traditional ceremony where the baby "eats" for the first time as their family warmly looks on.
And baby food, which introduces the joy and deliciousness of eating, while being essential for growth.
The shared joy as you watch your baby eating, their cute expressions as they enjoy the food.
It is a happy and fulfilling time, with each moment becoming precious memories for your family.
As your child grows, the times filled with joy and smiles as a family will become even more abundant.
This lacquerware, too, will become stronger and more elegant with the passage of time,
alongside your memories with your family.
